Repositioning and Reality: threesided's Independent Leap
We repositioned threesided as an independent product studio and updated our portfolio — and learned a thing or two about pushing boundaries.
Moving into the world of independence isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. But the reality is always a bit messier. We recently took decisive action to reposition threesided as an independent product studio. The kind of change that sounds significant, because it is.
But we didn’t stop there. We turned our gaze toward our portfolio. Projects like “dnd-cards” and “dnd-chat,” both unique in their own rights, needed updates—realignment with our new narrative. It’s funny how often “new narrative” actually means shifting things around on a digital bookshelf.
There’s a delicate balance to strike with each update. Capturing the essence while keeping the legacy intact. We chose to skip the journal on those projects—not all shifts need a spotlight. We reserve that for the milestones worth contemplating.
Each minute spent rearranging is a minute stolen from building. But isn’t that the art of growth? You build, then you reflect. Strategize. Adjust. Often without saying a single word.
That quiet part—it’s oddly satisfying. Sketching future possibilities while your fingers dance across the keyboard, line after line. Fragments coming together slowly but deliberately.
So, where did we land after all this? Looking back doesn’t come with a bow-tied lesson. It’s more like watching an ember glow in the dark. We changed the narrative. Now it’s ours to own, leave it burning brightly in all its unsolved beauty. That’s it. That’s the scale of it.
